Food processing machinery for sale

Our sales team quotes on every machine in our catalogue, from a single grinder or vacuum packer up to the machines for a complete line. This page sorts the range by the job each machine does, by manufacturer and by industry, and sets out what we need from you to prepare a quotation.

01Overview

What’s for sale, and what isn’t

The catalogue covers the machines that turn raw materials into a packed food product: preparing meat and brine, injecting and tumbling, filling, portioning and forming, slicing and dicing, smoking, cooking and drying, checking weight and foreign bodies, and packing. It comes from the manufacturers we represent, and each machine has its own page with the manufacturer’s description and, where the manufacturer publishes it, technical data.

Prices aren’t listed. What a machine costs depends on the model, the options and attachments chosen for your product and what it has to connect to on your floor, so we quote each enquiry rather than publish a list price.

Some equipment is outside the range. There is no slaughter, carcass breaking or boning equipment, no chiller or freezer rooms, no coating or frying equipment, and no bulk handling of dry ingredients such as silos or bulk-bag dischargers.

For background on each manufacturer and how the main machine categories fit together, read our food processing equipment guide. To go straight to the machines, with filters for type, brand and industry, open the equipment catalogue.

02Machine types

Machinery for sale by the job it does

The catalogue is split into machine types, and each type has its own page listing every machine in it. Below, the types are grouped roughly in the order a product meets them, with the number of machines of each type and the manufacturers that make them.

Preparing meat and brine

Reducing fresh and frozen meat and fat to the particle size a recipe calls for, chopping and emulsifying batters, and making up and holding the brine that goes into whole muscle.

Injecting, tumbling and tenderising

Putting brine or marinade into whole cuts through a head of needles, working it through the muscle in a tumbler, and opening up cuts mechanically with rollers or blades.

Filling, portioning and forming

Metering a mass at a set weight into casings, containers or shapes. Vacuum fillers sit at the centre of this group, and many of the linkers, formers, depositors, dough dividers and attachments beside them work from the flow a filler meters out.

Slicing and dicing

Dicers, slicers and strip cutters that take meat, cheese, fish and vegetables down to cubes, strips and slices of a set size.

Smoking, cooking and drying

Chambers for drying and smoking meat products, climatic installations for maturing and cold-smoking, and a radio-frequency dryer.

Checking weight and foreign bodies

Metal detectors, X-ray systems and weighing equipment that measure product on the line and reject a failed item or send a correction back to the machine upstream.

Packing and moving product

Thermoformers, tray sealers and vacuum packaging machines that seal the finished product, with shrink tanks, cooling and drying equipment and robotic loading, plus the conveyors and line equipment that carry product from one machine to the next.

04Industries

Machinery for sale by industry and product

If you would rather start from what you make, each industry page lists the machines used in it. The applications pages go a level further, to single products such as bacon, pizza, cheese blocks or wet pet food.

05Ways to buy

One machine, an add-on, or a whole line

Most purchases fall into one of three shapes. Knowing which one yours is helps us start in the right place.

  • 01

    A single machine

Replacing a machine or adding one, such as a grinder, a dicer or a vacuum chamber machine. Find it in the catalogue and use Request a quote on its page, which names the machine in the enquiry for you.

  • 02

An add-on for a machine you run

A vacuum filler with a standard attachment connection can take grinding heads, bone and sinew separators, forming and portioning devices, linking devices and container filling heads. Whether one suits yours depends on its model, so tell us what you run.

  • 03

Several stages or a full line

Our sales team quotes on complete production lines as well as single machines. The production lines page sets out illustrative layouts to start the conversation from.

06Quotations

What to include when you ask for a quotation

A quotation is only as useful as the information behind it. The more of the points below you can cover in your first enquiry, the fewer rounds of questions before you have a figure to work with.

Before you buy

Information that speeds up a quotation

  1. The products you make or plan to make, with a recipe or product specification if you can share it.
  2. The raw material as it arrives: fresh, chilled or frozen; whole muscle, trim or a prepared mass.
  3. The portion weights, sizes or slice thickness you need, and the tolerance you work to.
  4. The output you are aiming for per hour or per shift, and how many product changes you make in a day.
  5. The casings, trays, film or containers you use now, or want to move to.
  6. The machines already on your floor that the new one has to feed or be fed by.
  7. Floor space, access for delivery, and the power, water and compressed air available on site.
  8. Who will run, clean and maintain the machine, and how often it will be washed down.

You don’t need every answer to get started. Send what you have through our contact form or call either office, and our sales team will work through the rest with you.

07Before and after

Trying a machine first, and support once it’s running

A purchase is easier to justify once you have seen the machine work with your own product, and easier to live with when service and parts come from a local team.

Our service technicians install new machines, train operators and maintenance staff, and carry out maintenance, repairs, fault finding and relocations.

  • 03

    Spare parts

Genuine components kept in stock, help working out which part you need, and a blade sharpening service.

08FAQs

Questions about buying food processing machinery

Why aren’t prices shown on the machine pages?

Because the figure moves with the model, the options and attachments chosen for your product, and what the machine has to connect to. So instead of a list price, our sales team prepares a quotation for each enquiry.

Can I buy a single machine, or do I need a whole line?

A single machine is fine. Our sales team quotes on single stand-alone machines as well as complete production lines, and on attachments for machines you already run.

Can I see a machine run my product before I commit?

Yes. At our Customer Centre you can test machines with your own raw materials and recipes under real production conditions, with our specialists alongside.

Will you install the machine and train our staff?

Yes. Our service technicians install new machines and train operators and maintenance staff. They also handle maintenance, repairs and machine relocations after that.

How do I get a brochure for a machine?

Where we hold the manufacturer’s brochure, it is linked on the machine page. On many other machine pages, Request brochure opens the enquiry form with the machine already named.

Do you sell food processing machinery in New Zealand?

Yes, through our office in Rosedale, Auckland, as well as our Redland Bay office in Queensland. Check the line under each manufacturer on this page: most distributorships cover both countries, but Fomaco’s is for Australia only.

Who supplies spare parts once the machine is running?

Our spare parts department keeps genuine components in stock and helps identify the right part for your machine.
